The Clement Body Shapes

Below you will find the various body shapes that are offered as standard. There are however no limits to what we can do if you want something in particular... so shoot us an e-mail and we'll see if we can build what you have in mind!

The Clement Ergo Body Shapes
Joan This body shape will work for 4, 5 or 6 string basses with a scale length of 34" or 35". Bass #65 is built using this body shape.	Wide Joan This body shape is an adaptation of the Joan shape, and is intended for use with wide 5- or 6-string basses.
Mike This wider body shape works for the shorter 34" or 35" scale lengths for basses, and is basically a wider version of the Joan.	Allen 34 or 35" scale. Bass #77 is a good example of this shape
Alto This shorter body shape works for the shorter 30" or 32" scale lengths for basses, or for guitars. This body shape is used on Bass #25.
The Clement Singlecut Body Shapes
Felicia Either 34 or 35" scale will work with this body shape. 5 or 6 string Bass #74 uses this body shape.	Ryan 34" scale is the maximum for this body shape. It is a smaller body so it will handle 4 string or 17mm at the bridge 5 string basses. Any wider neck must use either the Joan, Jon or Felicia bodys. This body shape was used on Bass #203.
Jon 34 or 35" scale 5- or 6-strings on this bass shape. Take a look at Bass #76 to see a finished bass using this body shape.	Lise 34" scale on this bass shape. The Lise body shape is designed to enhance playing comfort when sitting. It adds a little distance between the lap and the strings, as well as move the "lap balance" slightly towards the headstock for optimal balance when sitting. Anne The Anne is a 34" or 35" scale 5- or 6-string body shape. The Anne is heavily chambered, and the body is made asymmetric for better balance when played sitting down. Because this bass is larger and more labor intensive it is more expensive than the standard models See how this bass was built!
The Clement Modern Doublecut Body Shapes
Slim 30"-32" scale 4 string on this bass shape. Bass #56 is based on this body shape.	Phunk 34" scale  4 string or 17mm at the bridge 5 string only on this bass shape. To see this as a finished bass, take a look at Bass #83.
The Clement Classic Body Shapes
Classic This is based on the classic Fender Jazz Bass from my  1966, and for a standard 20 or 21 fret neck. This body shape is used on Bass #110.	Kim This shape a is smoother more streamlined Jazz Bass style, and can accomodate anything from 4 to 7 strings. This body shape is used on Bass #189.
The Clement Custom Body Shapes
Vee   34" scale is the maximum for this body shape it will also work for regular guitars. This body shape was used for Bass #40.
