Hi Tom,
The bass arrived and it's beautiful and it plays like a dream. Great job with the nut too! It is one of the nicest pieces of ash I've ever seen and the whole bass is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, which is exactly the way I like it. I really like your version of the singlecut since I like the look of a singlecut, but the zing of a bolt-on. I was expecting it to be a bit neck heavy, but it's perfectly balanced and it is my lightest bass. Great work. I'll have to take some pics soon and post it on TB. I never thought I'd like a fretless this much. Thanks.

Tom,
Took her out for a test drive tonight at rehearsal and all I can say is....EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!
She feels great, looks great, is well balanced and plays great. But most of all she sounds absolutely fantastic. Lots of definition and presence and the bottom end is over the top. All the guys in the band were blown away including me. I didn't expect that she would sound so good. The passive tone really makes a big difference for me also. This is without a doubt the best bass guitar I have ever owned. You're an excellent luthier! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for a really great bass guitar.

Finally here and has been play tested the last two hours. The craftsmanship is wonderful as is to be expected, great job. as you said it's amazingly light, only my fretless compares to how light it is, but it has a smaller body!
i must say it handles the mid and high frequencies fantastically and is great for that jazz honky tonky style. i didn't get a chance to play with much volume because i was trying not to wake my brother, so my experiences of it are from low volume and playing into headphones a bit later. I’ve found that i great prefer the tone when the balance between the pickups is either even or favoring the bridge pickup and with that sort of setup it's really, really nice. Perhaps when i next rehearse I’ll find it a lot fatter with the low ends than i first did as i'll get a chance to whack the volume up on a nice Ashdown. I really can't wait to get that volume up and see how far she really goes, but i suspect I’m going to be very impressed.
it was lovely to play it for an hour then switch to the fretless for 20 minutes, then switch back. Now all I need to do is write some fretless riffs for my band and i can start taking the two Clements gigging
thanks again for your hard work and your presentation and customer service is always a credit. Who knows maybe in another 6 months I’ll be back for the fretted 6 I’m considering :p

Hi Tom,
She arrived safely just a few minutes ago. She is really gorgeous, unique instrument. The care and craftsmanship are top-notch. It is to your credit that you thought up a design that- to my knowledge- has no precedent. Yes, she has some elements of a Turner Renaissance, a Rob Allen, a Fodera, etc etc etc, BUT the way they are assimilated in this package is unique. I have not had a chance to hook her up yet, but in the next week, I will have several opportunities to play her with other people. I will get a more- detailed assessment to you.
Many thanks- a job well-done and a pleasure to work with you!

Hi Tom,
Yes, it got here around 630 pm last night. I have been able to play it for a couple hours now. I am surprised that it is not as difficult as I had expected. The bass feels and plays really great.
I will play it through an amp later today or tonight. I do love the bass a ton. Many thanks for doing such a great job on this. When the funds are there for a 6er that will be up next.
Gratefully,
Geoff

Tom I just got your bass and started playin on it, feels good, sounds great, excellent balance, nice and bright tone. I like the fact that theres no nobs in the downstrokes off the G string and there back by the bridge. The strings are sticky right now and I need to get this baby broken in.....It arrived on time with no problems... Thank you Adrian

I'm extremely impressed. I took the bass to a couple of rehearsals and people were dumbfounded by how beautiful she is. I love the way the bass plays, and the tone is incredible. I've found my self turning all effects off and EQing less than ever on my Demeter rig. It feels pretty light to me and very well balanced, the fit is perfect. ..... the range will take me a while to get together, I've never had a 6 string with more than a 24 fret fingerboard, but the tone is pleasing all the way up, no brittleness or lack of resonance, and the lows thunder. The neck really got me, it’s thin but feels so natural, I was able to play a lot of stuff in tune on first play without much adjusting of the chops. and is smells great , Is that the oil finish or the wood or both? Thank you thank you thank you, j

Return request ---> Just Kidding! :oP They'll have to pry this baby from my cold, dead fingers...
I wanted to let you know that I received the bass about an hour ago and have been busy putting her through the paces.
I've owned a TON of basses in my 25+ years of playing, including "high end" basses and I can honestly say that this puppy will hold her own against any of them. I have no remorse or regret selling an Alembic for #156. You sir, have the potential to make a Clement bass addict out of me.
What was especially striking was the weight...extremely light (compared to my Fenders/Music Man) and extraordinarily well balanced when either sitting or strapped on...I noticed ZERO neck dive. The finish is superb (my wife and daughters approve!) and the electronics EXACTLY what I had envisioned. The sound is remarkable pumping out of my MarkBass cabs, and I cannot wait to get this to rehearsal. ;)
Thanks for making an absolute KILLER bass at an affordable price, and being a hell of a guy to boot.
I already know what I want in a five-string, but that's a story for a later date, eh?
For now, let me enjoy...
Have a great one,
Jon

The bass arrived undamaged and seemingly no worse for the 3000 mile voyage. Much excitement as I was unwrapping her; after all, over 4 months of anticipation.
What can I say? Wonderful tone, very pleasing aesthetics, and fantastic workmanship. I suspect that Clement basses are not going to remain Florida's best kept secret for long. I anticipate the day when I can afford another. Kudos!
Thanks again, T. My other basses are currently gathering dust...

Well Tom, I gave her a whirl today and put her through the paces at church. I typically don’t risk bringing a new bass to church without experimenting with its sound a bit and practicing with our praise band a few times just to get comfortable with it before going and using it on a Sunday morning. But I came in a bit early this morning and plugged her in our sound system and was so happy with the sound as well as its feel and was so comfortable with her that I did not revert to my trusty main bass and went on and used her during the service and all went great! I plan on using her on our next church concert coming up in a couple of weeks of which we plan to record live and put down on a CD… Anyway thanks so much Tom you did a great job and I am happy with her!
