Quotes from Clement Customers

Below you will find quotes from my customers.

Hey Tom,

Bass arrived safe and sound yesterday around 4:00 pm. had to work last night or would have contacted you sooner. Guitar looks and sounds excellent.  You have a great talent; please keep up the good work. This is a very unique guitar.  It will be well taken care of.  i will leave feedback for you now, please do the same for me. Thanks again and it has been a pleasure to do business with you.

Hello Tom,
Today has been unusually busy leaving me with only 1/2 hour of much down time.  I definitely made time though brief to play open this and play it. Buying this was somewhat a risk, but your thorough description and answers to questions really helped me imagine what this would look like. So far I have been very pleased with it.  So, yes, the bass arrived safe and sound, even w/o any damage to the box.

Also, I really can tell why so many people took interest in this bass. I will update you even more about this bass as I get more time tomorrow. Oh, and I will leave you feedback mentioning this bass because to be honest other people mentioning your basses that they bought through ebay were helpful (the feedback will be good of course).

It just got here...

WOW!! You were totally right about it being light.. It sounds awesome!! And looks beautiful.... great work dude!!!Now if I could only play it instead of going to work... dammit, hahaha thanks a lot man... I had brought it into Sam Ash trying to find a hardcase that it would fit.... and you would not believe how many people swarmed around me asking about the bass, it’s a great piece of work

Hi Tom,

The bass has arrived. It's a wonderful instrument.

Thanks

I probably spent about 10 hours playing it over the weekend, and I am absolutely in love.  The intonation, feel, balance and playability are all above reproach.  I own a custom US Masters 4-string fretted bass, and these are very comparable instruments. The 54 Fender P/U is great and offers surprising versatility and volume.

I have to give you exceptional kudos on your placement of the neck markings.  So many fretless bases are vague in their neck markings, but yours (from the first "fret" to the octave) are dead on! As you move into other instruments (fretted basses, guitars, etc), I will definitely keep my eyes on your auctions.  My wife is a guitar player, too.

Please feel free to e-mail me whenever you have anything new to report or unique ideas.  One thing that I would like to see would be an electric upright bass that uses actual long-scale gut strings and can be bowed.  So many of the EUB's that you see on e-bay are nothing more than a bass neck mounted to a stand and played in an upright fashion.

Thanks again for everything.  Everyone who spent their time asking questions instead of buying missed a huge deal.

Dave

The bass did arrive safely and in good condition.

let me tell you, though i have not played many fretless basses, this one sounds particularly awesome. And even with the treble all the way up, i don't get any buzzing. maybe its my amp, it has a built in noise gate which takes out a lot of that stuff. It is the thinnest neck i've ever played on, and oh so comfortable.

Tom,

I just received the bass and I am in awe. Even my wife thinks that you are a master of the art of bass building. Take that as a major compliment. I have not played it yet and that will have to wait till I am back, but I thought that I’d tell you.

I am more than blown away - this thing is phenomenal.

I can't believe how playable it is for being 5-strings.  In fact, your two basses that I own have made me take a long, hard look at the other basses I own. I'm putting 7 of them up for sale this week because you have shown me that I don't need to own anything less than the best.  Please take that as one of the greatest compliments I can give.  I still have about 5 that I will keep, but you have put every other fretless bass (and most of the regular ones, too) that I own to shame.

Good Morning Tom,
I received the bass without a scratch. It was packed superbly. I was very impressed when I opened the Gig Bag. I don't know why I expected something a bit more rustic. Maybe because you said that you don't know how some of these guys get that mirror like finish. This bass has a satin like finish. Very cool. A couple of guys at work play bass or guitar and they were admiring the looks too. The whole instrument looks very professional and solid with that hand made flavor. I got it home and started playing immediately and didn't put it down until Mama made me watch American Idol with her. Torn between two lovers ya know. The Bass sounds very nice. Plenty of mwaaah. The playability is excellent. I found it perfect for my hands. I'm running out of superlatives. Let's just say "Job very well done" and you have a very satisfied customer.

Take care Tom and good luck with your new business. I hope it takes off for you. It should. Stay in touch and go ahead and send any propesctive customers my way and I'll be happy to steer them the right way.

Thanks, Kurt

Hi Tom,
I must apologize for not writing sooner. We have had lots and lots of visitors this summer and things have been put on hold.

Jose has snatched minutes to play the fretless, last night was one of them so I made a note to drop you a line this morning. She absolutely loves the bass and we had two small gigs both outdoors in the summer and she refused to take it as it was damp both times. So it has not been "out to play' yet. She has been very busy at work and not played very much this year. However she really has a great time playing it and loves the tone and action.

We are considering putting a G&L pickup on it in the neck position but I think it may spoil it so it is just a thought at the moment Kind regards and thanks for everything you have done for her.

Chris
